Friday Favourite - Graze Box!

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS....

Are you excited for Christmas / Holiday season everyone?  Besides that song being stuckin my head pretty much 24/7 right now, I am! I really freaking am!!

I probably won't have another post up before my Chrimbo food post so I thought I'd pop in with a cheeky Friday Favourite!

I know Graze boxes are kind of old news and I stopped getting them a few years ago but my workmate started them recently and I was jealous! haha, no not really.  I just thought they looked awesome. So I went on the site and reactivated my subscription.

I like that you can search by dietary requirement so basically you can 'bin' anything that isn't vegan, so if you try and add anything to your try list, it tells you it's not vegan! YAY.

This is what I got in my first box: funky dried veggies, Jaffa Cake mix, Dark Rocky Road, and PB dippers. I've tried the pb dippers, they are pretty good! (My workmate wasn't a fan so they were slung my way! :) )

Today I had the Jaffa Cake pack, which is basically chocolate, orange-flavoured raisins and hazelnuts.  All stuff I love and that went well together. The chocolate was really good too, I'm picky with dark chocolate because it can be really bitter but it was lovely.

Excited to see what next week brings!

If I don't speak to yous, have a fantabulous Chrimbo if you celebrate it and I'll catch you on the flipside.

Party Makeup Series: Gold Smokey Eyes and Red Lips

My next party look is a classic smokey eye, with a bit of gold added and a glam red lip.  This look is pretty easy, you just need a bit of patience to get it blended enough. Especially if you add a bit of black like I did, as that is tricky to work with.

So this is the look, I wore this for my work Christmas Party, hence the dramatic lashes!  You could skip these though or go for something more subtle.

I started by priming my face with this primer from Neve. I don't know if I love this yet, or if it actually makes much of a difference.  Jury's out!

Then I went onto eyes. I primed with Limecrime's Eyeshadow helper.  Then I mainly used shadows from the MUA Undress Me Too palette. For the crease I used B's Cinnamon eyeshadow but you could just use the Mate Brown from the MUA palette instead.

I just took a fluffy brush (bdellium 785) and put this in the crease. Doesn't have to be neat, just blend it well. This is our transition shade.

All the way through as I'm doing my eyeshadow, I just use my finger to clean up a bit if I take it too low.

Then I took the darkest brown from the palette on a flat brush (Furless PM2) and patted it into the outer corner of my lid.

Then back to my crease brush to blend away the edges. I repeated these steps a few times until I was happy with the colour.

Then I changed to a fluffy but flatter brush (I used a Furless Bronze Blending brush) and picked up some of the black.

I put this into the outer corner and pulled it out a bit at the side, into a bit of a wing shape, you can see that better a few pictures down! :o)  I went back to my blending brush to blend out harsh edges and repeated, as above, until I was happy with the colour.

Then the gold. LOOK how pretty!! This is Sugarpill's Goldilux pigment

I wiped off my flat brush and picked up some pigment from the lid of the jar. Then packed it onto the lid, in the centre and inner portions.

I then went back to the blending brush to blend and kept repeating these 2 steps until I was happy.

Here you can see the sort of shape I created.

Then I went back to my original crease brush, with a bit more of the transition colour and blended until everything was soft.

Then I lined my upper and lower waterlines with black waterproof eye pencil (this is actually an old NYX one but as they're not cruelty free anymore, I'd recommend Barry M's or GOSH's Velvet Touch Liners, I just could find a black one! Doh.

Then I picked up the lightest matte (ish) shade from the palette

And blended it under the brow with a bdellium 776 brush

At this point, I did my foundation, & concealer, bronzer and blush and filled in my brows with Anastasia Beverley Hill's Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde. The products used and the steps for the face were exactly the same as in THIS post.

Then, back to the eyes...

I picked up some of the black from the palette on a Barry M Angle brush and used it to set my waterline and put it right up under the lashes on my lower lash line.

Then used a small fluffy brush (Real Techniques Shading Brush)  to blend this out with some of the matte brown shade from the MUA palette.  Take your time with this and blend it out really well, so that it is soft & smokey. And join the lower corner up to the upper corner.

Then I wiped off the brush and used it to put the lightest, shimmery shade from the palette into the inner corner of my eye.  I also added a bit of mascara (Barry M Lash Vegas Fibres)

Then I took Collection's Glam Crystals glitter liner in Funk and put a small amount on the tear duct and right up under the lower lashes, for a bit of sparkle.

I added some lashes, these ones are from Superdrug, their Volume Edition 21.  I used Duo Glue to attach them rather than the glue that comes with and I trimmed them a wee bit to fit my eye first.

Then I lined and fully filled in my lips with GOSH's Velvet Touch liner in Simply Red

Then added B.'s lipgloss in Belle over top

Then my lashes were bugging me, as there was a bit of a gap between the inner corner and the lash, so I added a bit of my black eyeliner pencil to fill the gap and smudged a bit along the lash line too.

Finished eye look!

Hope you enjoyed!  My next one is going to be a full on glittery eye for Christmas (or New Year's Eve) and I'm thinking of a super dark/black smokey eye for New Year. But if you want to see anything specific, please let me know in the comments or talk to me on social media - links to the right!

Party Makeup Series - Purple & Pink 'Halo' Eyes

So today I'm bringing you my first party makeup pic tutorial.  I was fighting a losing battle against getting this done before the sun set, so the light does change in the pics.  But hopefully you'll get the idea.

I started with something a bit more colourful, as there'll no doubt be a few sparkly / neutral ones in this series.  This method is super easy and can be done with any colours you like; I picked purple & pinks.

 Here is the overall look

And here's how I did it...

When using bright colours, I think it's best to put down a light base (white works well) so I used the lightest concealer I could find (in this case, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Shade 1 - CV).  I patted this all over the lid and blended it in with my finger. Don't add too much or it'll crease.

The eyeshadows I used from this palette mostly came from the Revolution Matte Brights Palette.... ooooh see how pretty....

I started by picking up the lightest pink

With a fluffy blending brush (I used a bdellium 785), put this colour in the crease. This won't really show and so doesn't need to be neat. Just go back and forward really roughly in the crease.  This is our transition shade.

Then with a flat brush (I used a Furless PM2), pick up some of your bright purple.

Pack this on the inner and outer 1/3 or so of the lid

I switched to a pencil brush (Furless PRO3M) as I wanted something that would the colour packed on a bit more.

Then join up the inner and outer corner by using windscreen wiper motions with the pencil brush in the crease

It should look something like this

Then go back to the blending brush you used for the light pink and blend so there's no harsh edges. Repeat these steps (packing on purple, blending out edges) until you're happy with the colour intensity.

With a clean blending brush (this is an Illamasqua blending brush), pick a small amount of up the dark pink.

Put this just above the purple and blend it well, going back to your blending brush and adding a bit more light pink to blend out if needed.  The aim is to create a bit of a gradient.

Then pick up the white (I used a bdellium 776)

And put it under the eyebrow to highlight the brow bone

Then wipe off your flat brush (or use a clean one) and pick up some light cream eyeshadow.  You can skip this step if you have a really pigmented shade for the next step, but mine wasn't very pigmented so I did this to give the shimmer something to stick to and make it stand out more.  This is Superdrug's B. Cream Shadow in the shade Lizzie (V).

Pat this onto the space in the middle of the lid that we left free.

Then flip the brush around and pick up a light and shimmery eyeshadow or highlighter.  This is Revolution's Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights (AV)

Pat this over top, feathering out the edges to blend it into the purple.  If need be, add a touch more purple to blend it.

Then add some black eyeliner. This is optional but I like the way it looks with liner.  I didn't wing out the liner much, just finished it off at the edges.

Then line the waterline with a gold eyeliner. I used GOSH's Velvet Touch Liner in Renaissance Gold (CV). You could use black or silver if you prefer.

Then add plenty of mascara, I used my favourite, Barry M Lash Vegas + Fibres (V).

You can add lashes too at this point, but as this was just for Monday night salsa, I skipped them. However, at the end of this post is a similar look I did on a weekend away, that shows you how much more dramatic this will look with lashes! :)

Onto the face.  I mixed 2 pumps of B. Youthful Foundation (shade 10, Linen - V) with about half a pump of SEVENTEEN's Skin Wow! Highlighter (CV).

I buffed this onto my face with a bdellium 954 brush, which I've been loving for foundation lately.

Then I added concealer under my eyes (Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, shade 2 - CV). I like to blend this out with a bdellium 949 brush.

Set under the eyes with powder - I used a Real Techniques Setting Brush and MUA's pressed powder in shade 1 (AV). I switched to a Barry M Kabuki brush to set the rest of the face. (Sexy powder face!!)

Then go back to the eyes.  Using your pencil brush again, pick up a tiny bit of the purple and blend it under the lower lashes, connecting the corner up to the purple on top.   I also filled in my brows with Anastasia Beverley Hills' Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde (AV) and added a bit of GOSH's Clear Brow Gel on top (CV).

This is where I'd totally lost the light so moved into another room! :)

For the face, I used my Revolution Sugar & Spice Ultra Blush Palette (AV).  I swirled my brush into the 2 bronze/contour shades on the top left.

And dusted it high on the cheeks, forehead and a bit over the bridge of the nose, to warm up the face. I used a Real Techniques Powder Brush.

Then I picked up this blush shade with a Real Techniques Blush Brush

This is one tiny tap!  It's SOOOO pigmented  (I REALLY love this palette!)

I tapped it off on the back of my hand then tapped the brush onto the apples of the cheeks, so as not to put too much colour on.

Then, I used a Real Techniques Contour Brush to add Revolution's Peach Lights highlighter, the same I used on the eyes, to my cheekbones, bridge of the nose and the cupid's bow.

I lined my lips thickly with OCC's pencil in Hoochie, but not fully.

Then filled in with Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine Lip Pencil in Electra (V)

So that's the final look.  The next one is going to be glittery, as I'll be wearing it to my work's Christmas do, so stay tuned! :)

As promised above too, here is another example of this look; I used a brighter shadow in the centre of the lid (although I can't for the life of me remember what it is!), used black in the waterline, a sparkly white on the inner corner AND I added lashes and gold eyebrows!  The brows are Sugarpill's Goldilux pigment (V) mixed with Illamasqua Sealing Gel (CV).

Happy Humpday all, what's left of it!
