A Friday Favourite

Korres Lip Butter (AV).

My friend Tabitha bought me this and gave me it last week and I'm loving it!  It's a very soft lip balm, with a tint to it. Not crazy coloured but enough that you wouldn't need a lippy on top for a subtle look. I have the shade/flavour Mango, which is a lovely coral colour.

You can buy these in larger tesco stores now; I will definitely be picking up some more colours.

A Friday Favourite...

I know I know... it's Saturday but I didn't have time to get this up yesterday. So my favourite for this week has been Bronzey eyes!

I need fast makeup in the mornings because I am always running late, after dragging myself out of bed later than I should.

So pretty much every day this week, I've gone for this eye look. Basically I quickly run the Barry M Eyeshadow Pencil (V) in the bronzey shade (EP2) over my lid and then set it with Fiery from the MUA Undress Me Too Palette (AV) - that's the 3rd shade from the right on the top row.

This palette is a dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, so if you have that, Fiery is the dupe for Chopper. It's pretty close too.

The pencil - I like a lot. They are supposed to be long wearing and waterproof and they do wear well. I put it in the waterline too and it lasted pretty well.  It did crease a wee bit in the socket of my eye, even with a primer, but nothing too bad.

Also please note that not all the eyeshadow pencils are vegan, 4 of them are, the others are not. Take a look at the product ingredients list to see which shades are good to go.

So here's a close up of the eye look. I also used some other shades from the MUA palette: Lavish in the crease (the shade to the right of Fiery) and Shy in the inner corner (the shade to the left of Fiery).  I used Naked (the 1st shade on the left of the top row) on the brow bone. 

For £4, I think the MUA palettes are brilliant alternatives to Urban Decay's offerings which are 10 times the price and also they're owned by L'Oreal, boo sucks to you UD!! haha

A Friday Favourite (or two!)

I couldn't pick what I liked most this week, so I cheated and picked two!

Starting with OCC's Grandma Lip Tar (V). I also used the OCC Grandma pencil (V) in this look.  It's freakin. Gorgeous!  I love orange lips and this is the perfect peachy orange. B.E.A.UUUUUtiful.

Second was the liner. I love blue & orange together so instead of blank liner, I used Sugarpill's Royal Sugar Chromalust Shadow (V) mixed with Illamasqua sealing gel.  I didn't like how it just muted the colour and the sparkle when I did this so I patted some more dry Royal Sugar over the liner after I'd applied it wet. That way it was brighter and still sparkly. YAY!

Side shot because I liked how my blush/highlighter looked (it's ELF's HD Blush (V) in Superstar and MeMeMe's Moonbeam highlighter (CV) respectively!)

Not that this pic shows it all that well but look how rad my earrings are! (I love Claires!!)

A Friday Favourite

Kiss Lashes!

I bought these in either Boots or Superdrug the other week, I forget which, after seeing this brand mentioned a couple of times in blogs / youtube vids etc. Apparently Eyelure's parent company animal tests (bad news for my beloved Katy Perry lashes :o( ... ) so I've stopped buying those and I was happy to discover that Kiss are a cruelty free company. Hooray! I'm not 100% sure that the glue that comes with these is vegan (it probably is but I need to check that) but I never use the glue you get with false lashes anyway, I always use Duo (CV).  

Anyway, these are the lashes I got, they're the featherlight lashes and they're called vamp; they're super light and wispy, like the wispies from Ardell really.  What I like is that they don't have a thick lash band so you could wear them without eyeliner if you wanted and they're also really comfy to wear and easy to apply!

You can see that they just give a bit of extra oomph but it doesn't look like you're obviously wearing false lashes. They're lovely.

Here's an awkward underneath shot to show you how pretty and wispy they are.  Ignore the inner corner - my eye was watering like a muthabitch that night and I really struggled to get them to stick (that is also why my concealer looks so weird!)

I kept the eyes pretty neutral as I was wearing a bright orange lip. That's the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Lips pencil in gsl2 (V) that I love love LOVE!

NYX's Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz.

I've been reaching for this every day this week and it's the most perfect peachy pink and looks great with most eye looks.  Also, the formula is lovely because it's slightly thicker and stickier than regular lip gloss, which sounds gross, but it means they last a wee bit longer!

This is one of those things that looks vegan to me from the ingredients list, but NYX are utter rubbish when you ask them questions about veganness and generally just ignore your queries, so it's not worth bothering if you have a product you want to check with them. You just have to go by the ingredients list and decide if you're happy with it or not.

A Friday Favourite

Bright, summary nails!

As the beautiful hot weather we had last weekend has refused to stick around, I'm glad I made my nails all bright and neony last weekend.

I did this with Nubar's Gelicure gel polish (V) and because it's a gel, they still look as good today as they did on Sunday, no chips! :o)

Nubar is a professional product, so for details of your nearest salon that uses it, google is your friend!

A Friday Favourite: Bright Yellow Nails

It's Friday YAY! And firstly I am sorry for my lack of posting lately - been a mad couple of weeks. But I'm going to be back into my regular schedule next week!

Onto my Friday favourite and because the sunshine has been very irrational this week and refused to stick around for more than 5 minutes at a time, I decided to paint some on my nails instead.

This was a limited edition colour Barry M brought out last year. I don't think it actually has a name, but it sure it pretty!

A Friday Favourite

Beauty UK Posh Pout crayons (AV*).

I picked these up in Superdrug a couple of weeks ago and they're perfect for living in my handbag. Basically they are a tinted lip balm in crayon form that smell of spearmint. Nice! You can put just a quick coat on for a touch of colour or build them up a bit for something more intense.

As they're a balm, they're not particularly long-lasting. But they are pretty and nice and moisturising, so they're comfortable to wear. And they smell nice.
